Another year is passing, so I think it is a great moment to write a post about the current situation of my son.
In May we were with Simon for two days in a hospital, where they have done strabismus correction. Before the treatment he had a squint to the left, after the treatment the squint has moved to the right (so the result of the treatment was not as we were hoping). Later we had a few visits to the optician to adjust glasses for him – he needed the proper lenses, plus occasionally we had to fix the glasses, because Simon was breaking them (by the way, they are again under repair).
In June my wife visited with him the main children’s hospital in Warsaw, where they have said that everything is OK with him.
In the beginning of November Simon was vomiting, he had strong headaches and photophobia. He could barely walk. In the beginning we thought, that it was a virus, because Ola and Timothy were vomiting a few days earlier, but it turned out, that it was something different. We took him to the hospital in Jelenia Gora, where he has spend 4 days. He was thoroughly checked, they gave him some medicine, he was connected to a drip. They have done a medical checkup – including tomography and MRI of the brain.
We were send to Wroclaw to an endocrinology department to check the level of cortisol. We’ve been to this hospital twice.
In the meantime Simon had relapses of headaches and vomiting. Right now we have no idea what is causing them. Perhaps these are migraines, or other disorders connected with his adolescence.
When we will receive the medical results from Wroclaw we will go to a neurologist.
Since the treatment of Simon in Warsaw 3 years and 4 months have passed. God is good, there is no tumor, life goes on. Simon grows and is slowly becoming a teenager. We are sorry, that he has lost part of his carefree childhood, but what can we do about it? Everybody has his own way to walk. Sometimes we do not choose our valleys.
Anyway, we are happy that another great holiday amongst our friends and family is coming.
We wish you a wonderful and merry Christmas, and a happy New Year.
Let all your dreams come true and everything goes well!
It is going to be a great year!
